Fall Wedding in Aspen, CO | Bluebird Productions

Fall in Aspen.  Is there anything better?  This really was one of my favorite weddings of all time.  The reasons were many. This bride. She was the most elegant bride in her Oscar De La Renta gown, but what shined even brighter than her obvious outward beauty was the beauty in her soul.  This bride was kind-hearted, relaxed, sweet, and generous throughout the entire wedding planning process.  She had great style and was open to fun ideas, but was also so grounded about her wedding day.  It was truly a pleasure working with her.

My favorite moment (besides a quick design break to see the Maroon Bells in all their Fall glory with the girls) was walking into the Hotel Jerome Ballroom after setting up the ceremony.  My staff was putting the finishing touches on tables and I thought to myself, "Now this is how I've always wanted to do weddings."  Every finishing touch was there, down to the little peach ranunculus on every menu.  It didn't feel stuffy or overly formal or stiff.  It felt warm and inviting and hospitable and FUN. It felt just right and I have treasured this moment in my heart as an important moment in my career as a floral designer.  It is a wonderful thing to know who you are as a designer and also who you are not.  And it was fun in that moment to be exactly who I have always wanted to be.

To see more, check out this rad feature on Brides.com and look for an upcoming spread in the Fall edition of Reign Magazine.  Enjoy!
